By day I’m an automation engineer, and somewhere along the way photography became one of the most meaningful parts of my life.
Most days you can find me listening to Noah Kahan, eating way too much chocolate, or hanging out with my cat Winnie (who I’m probably a little too obsessed with).
I love adventure and exploring places that make you stop and take everything in. One of the most surreal places I’ve ever been was Banff National Park in Canada. It’s one of those places that almost doesn’t feel real when you’re standing there.
I’m also a pretty big nerd at heart, which is probably why engineering felt like the right path for me in the first place.
At the end of the day, I just really love people and the moments that make life meaningful. Getting to witness those moments for others means so much to me.
I truly can’t wait to meet you.
xoxo,
Skylar
When I was in high school, my dad passed away. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever gone through, and it completely changed the way I look at photographs.
When someone you love is gone, the photos you have of them suddenly become incredibly important. They become little pieces of time that you get to hold onto, moments that bring you back to how things felt. That experience is a big reason why photography means so much to me today.
Weddings are one of the few days in life when so many of the people you love are all in one place. Parents, grandparents, siblings, friends, everyone gathered together celebrating something meaningful. Years from now, those images will hold the people who were there and the memories you shared with them. Being trusted to capture those moments is something I never take lightly.
I’m also lucky enough to be dating my best friend, Peyton.
We met freshman year of college on our very first day of calculus. We spent years as friends first, studying together, figuring out college life, and probably being two of the bigger nerds in the room.
He’s the calm to my overthinking, the person who supports all of my creative ideas, and the one who patiently waits while I stop to admire every sunset we pass.
Life is just better when your best friend is along for the adventure.
Life moves quickly. People grow, seasons change, and moments that once felt ordinary slowly become the memories you wish you could go back to.
That’s why photographs matter so much.
They let you return to the people, the laughter, and the feeling of a moment long after it’s passed.
My goal is simple: to document your life in a way that feels honest and real, the big moments, the quiet ones, and everything in between.
Because years from now, when you look back at these images, I want them to bring you right back to how it all felt.
